"The Chinese use two brush strokes to write the word 'crisis.' One brush stroke stands for danger; the other for opportunity. In a crisis, be aware of the danger - but recognize the opportunity."

"Great leaders are great learners. God, in His wisdom, has placed men and women around us with the experience and discernment we often lack."

How Great Leaders Confront a Crisis
The past several months have tested leaders across the planet. Many people who hold the position of leader, but perhaps without much in the way of experience, have learned on the job what that position demands.
It may be helpful for all leaders to step back, take a breath and ask if your leadership is measuring up. Dr. Travis Bradbury, author or "Emotional Intelligence 2.0" and "Seagull Management "offers a brief leadership inventory that may help you judge yourself in two key areas that constitute much of leadership: Certainty and Conviction. This short post by Dr. Bradbury, How Great Leaders Confront a Crisis, offers an interesting checklist for these two key areas.
How are you doing against this list?
What's Around the Corner?
Whatever you think of Bill Gates, you can't say he's sitting on the sidelines as regards Corona. In a 2014 TED Talk, he predicted that at some point we would be coping with a pandemic. He is now investing many hundreds of millions of his own dollars in getting ready to produce whatever vaccine ends up being approved for general use.
Mr. Gates is back on the TED Circuit and sharing his thoughts on Corona and what's around the block. This 42 minute video is worth it if you think he might have some insights on "How the Pandemic will Shape the Near Future."
The New B2B Selling
Three things are happening due to Corona: what was expected to happen; what would have happened anyway, only much faster; and what wouldn't have happened without Corona. There's a little of all three in this short HBR article on how B2B selling is changing due to the pandemic.
The good news is that the new tactics require little more investment than some new thinking and hard work. Check out How to Keep Closing B2B Deals During the Pandemic. Frankly, these sound like good suggestions even if we hadn't had a pandemic.
